Happy Birthday to me!

I have had the most wonderful birthday. Thanks for asking!

Now, last year I took the Bar on my birthday. So, pretty much anything was going to be a step up. :) But thanks to my husband and wonderful friends and family it was better than just not-the-Bar.

I woke up this morning to find Happy Birthday banners all over the house. It was just too adorable and I kept them all day long. I went to breakfast with my grandmother, which was fun, and then did a little shopping.

No birthday is complete without a trip to Surplus City.

For lunch, I got to go to Domino's and make my own pizza! Nicholas and I met the owner at a country club event a few months back. I mentioned my pizza problem and my new year's resolution to give up delivery pizza. Well, he said I could come down and make my own pizza anytime and then it wouldn't count as delivery!

I've done really good and have only had pizza once a month (except for June) so it was so fun to reward myself with this special treat. I put spinach, tomato, and feta on one side and the tiniest amount of pepperoni on the other. It was delicious!!!

I had a relaxing pedicure in the afternoon and then we had some friends and family over for cake and ice cream this evening. My dear friend Millie made me a GORGEOUS birthday cake which delicious to boot.

I really felt like the luckiest girl in the world all day.

Exactly how you should feel on your birthday. :)

Chuck E. Cheese

Last night our summer play group had our final gathering at Chuck E. Cheese. This was Griffin's first trip to the Cheese and he had a fantastic time. He squealed with delight on all the little car rides. He took several trips on everyone and was ecstatic the entire time.

Story of Today: Sunday

8:30am - "Good morning. Are you going to stop taking my picture so much soon?"

8:51am - On Sunday mornings, I wake up and check my coupon sites for the week's deals. Today was no different.

8:57pm - I made breakfast for Griffin while Nicholas worked out.

9:30am - We all ate together after that and Griffin learned to shake hands.

10:30am - We went out to run errands. I did a quick run through Walgreens, where I got 2 Digiorno pizzas for $4, and CVS, where I bought a four pack of tea with $5.99 in extra care bucks and got back $7.99 in extra care bucks. For those of you who don't do math, they paid me $2 to take it out of the store.

11:15pm - I went to the country club for a run. Nicholas took Griffin to Lowes and Kroger. He said he was so tired he started falling asleep sitting up in the cart! :(

12:37pm - We ran straight home, fed Griffin a quick lunch, and put him to bed. We had B.L.Ts for lunch again because they were just that good.

1:42pm - We watched this great little documentary called Pressure Cooker and I worked on my journaling for this project.

3:43pm - Griffin napped for a while so I also did some knitting. I also ran some errands and took my third trip to Michael's this week.

5:37pm - Ron and Mema came over for dinner.

6:21pm - We love to have our Sunday family dinners. Nicholas made chicken, sauteed potatoes, and corn on the cob.

7:00pm - Mema stayed with Griffin while we went out bowling. He was a little ready for his bath to stay the least.

7:15pm - We went down to Cardinal Lanes for some bowling. Everyone had their own moment of victory.

8:45pm - This is one of the highlights of my week.

10:30pm - I came home and hung out with Nicholas. We watched Design Stars and cuddled on the couch.

12:24pm - I stayed up way too late and am just this moment going to bed!

Story of Today: Saturday

8:00am - Griffin and Nicholas had some father and son time while I slept in this morning. That's not to say he wasn't happy to see me when I finally woke up. :)

8:30am - My parents came over for breakfast. I talked Nicholas into making pancakes.

9:30am - My grandmother also came over and the entire gang had breakfast together. It's probably the first time we've all eaten together in over a month since SOME people decided to go on big European vacations.

10:22am - It's always nice to have a few quiet moments together when everyone leaves.

12:00pm - Ron worked on installing the door on our laundry room and we also had someone come by and finally clean our gutters. Mom came back over for lunch and made B.L.T.'s with our Amish tomatoes which were delicious!

2:00pm - I made peach honey from the skins leftover from our canning adventures.

3:30pm - The rest of the afternoon I spent running some errands so I could make this plate for a birthday party we were attending tonight. I was pretty happy with the results.

6:00pm - The birthday party was for our friends Chad and Elizabeth Dorsey's son William. They had a cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, and a ton of screaming children. We decided not to eat the last one.

8:00pm - The birthday boy was pretty hilarious and sang Happy Birthday to himself at the top of his lungs along with everyone else.

9:00pm - Our poor baby got in bed WAY past his bedtime. I worked on clearing off my hard drive (apparently taking 300 pictures a day stops it up) and watched several hilariously dated episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer - including one where the internet gets possessed by a demon and hijinks ensue!
