Misc.

Important questions I have:
1. Why does anyone still pay attention to Ann Coulter?
2. How does one become an astro-archaeologist?
3. Am I in Paris yet?
4. Why doesn't Zipcar TELL you when the car has to be parked somewhere else!?!
5. Does anyone want to make donations to my Paris travel fund?
6. Why are people so ridiculously stupid?

Puh-freaking-leeze...I don't always agree with Bill Maher but he isn't even comparable to Ann Coulter.

1. Even worse is Bill O'Reilly who claimed to be 'Independent' on 60 Minutes. Not that I'm defending Ann...

O'Reilly distinguishing himself from Limbaugh on 60 Minutes:

"I respect Limbaugh for basically making a success out of himself and putting on an entertaining program. But he's not a primary source of information, or shouldn't be," says O'Reilly. "He's an entertainer. … I'm a journalist."

RIIIGHT....

I can contribute to Paris, only if you call me.

Oh by the way, I think Bill Maher wrote the book on stupid.

Here's the deal- I'll contribute to Paris, in return, you contribute an equal amount to my Cruise fund.

We'll call it even ;)

P.S. your mom is hilarious.

I saw this somewhere else online, and I think it makes sense. Bill Maher is a comedian and an entertainer. He's supposed to be funny. Ann Coulter is, ostensibly, a political commentator. To be good at their jobs, she should make persuasive arguments in favor of the Republican party or at least have some insights into politics, whereas he should make us laugh... even if we're laughing at him and not with him. The rules are different, and she is wildly out-of-bounds (which is about her only feature that keeps her in the public eye.)

At any rate, the right response to Ann Coulter's behavior is "she was way out of line" and not "Bill Maher is also dumb."

In no way would I EVER defend Ann Coulter and her horrible comments; in the same breath, I think Maher is just as bad. They are equally wrong in their comments; whether one wants to defend someone as a "comedian/entertainer" or not. This country and this world needs more comedians, political commentators and just normal people who can rise up against such trivial comments and talk about good things in people--not bad things in/about people. The best comedians I enjoy do not need to talk poorly about other people.
Fact: Both Coulter and Maher are wrong in their comments, and we ALL should be able to agree on that.

I refuse to agree with you, Anonymous Commenter(s). Sorry. I grew up hearing hate speech, and I think those who use it should be singled out for their behavior, not lumped into "comedians that talk poorly of others." If Bill Maher uses hate speech, I will be right there along side you, my Anonymous friend(s), in pillorying him.

This is not a case of "The other party is guilty, too!" (a juvenile argument in the first place.)
